Difference between the Bulk EC and Pore EC:
- Bulk EC being the EC of the whole soil mass which includes soil/media particles, air space and water in the pores of the soil (pore water).
- Pore EC is a calculation of just the EC of the pore water if you were to extract it from the soil and measure it alone. The benefit of knowing the pore water EC is that it’s really the EC that the plant roots “see” in the soil/media.
